What are the symptoms of thyroid cancer?
Thyroid cancer is a disease that affects the thyroid. The thyroid is a gland located in the front part of the neck. Early stages of thyroid cancer usually has no symptoms, it is just a small lump in the thyroid. As the cancer grows, it may produce the following symptoms: Neck Mass, Hoarseness, Neck Pain, Swallowing Difficulty, Breathing Difficulty, and Swollen Glands.
Potential thyroid cacner symptoms include :
- a lump in the neck that gradually increases in size, with or without pain. The patient may experience difficulty swallowing or breathing. A lump that can be felt in the neck is the most frequent thyroid cancer symptom. Thyroid nodules are common, and in most cases they are benign.
- The patient may experience hoarseness in his voice with difficulty speaking. He may also feel pain in the throat or neck.
- Swelling of lymph nodes is also a thyroid cancer symptom.
- A persistent cough that is not from a cold may also be a symptom of thyroid cancer.
Commonly, these signs and symptoms will indicate problems other than cancer. However, people who notice any symptoms should see their doctor.
